The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday that a robbery suspect was captured after an investigation they said lasted several months and spanned multiple jurisdictions.
The case involves a series of robberies in San Carlos that came to the attention of authorities in December. A suspect would enter the lobby or mail room of apartment complexes and steal packages and other items.
Investigators began linking these robberies to others reported in Redwood City and San Mateo.
Working with police from all cities involved, the Sheriff's Office identified a 54-year-old Redwood City man and arrested him last Thursday on suspicion of multiple counts of residential burglary.
Anyone who has experienced similar robberies or who may have useful information for this case is asked to contact Detective David Brandt of the San Mateo Sheriff's Office at dbrandt@smcgov.org.
