Biden approved the declaration of emergency in California due to extreme weather

This Friday the president Joseph Biden approved a declaration of emergency in California and ordered federal assistance to supplement state, tribal, and local response efforts due to emergency conditions resulting from severe winter storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides beginning Thursday, March 9. 

The President's action authorizes the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to coordinate all disaster relief efforts to alleviate the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population, and to provide appropriate assistance for necessary emergency measures, to save lives and protect property and the health and safety of the people.
