San Mateo County has hosted a series of roundtables to discuss and explore the impacts of COVID-19 on local small businesses, as well as opportunities for a better and faster economic recovery.
Through these information and discussion panels, which will be held during the months of August and September, experts and researchers will present data on the economic impact of the pandemic and its prospects for the economy in the future.
Speakers include Chris Benner, professor of environmental studies and sociology at UC Santa Cruz; Patrick Kallerman, vice president of research at the Bay Area Council Economic Institute; and Rosanne Foust, president and CEO of the San Mateo County Economic Development Association (SAMCEDA).
The first roundtables will explore strategies to get people back to work, support urban centers and small businesses, and provide communities with the essential support systems needed to create a better future for all.
