The COVID-19 pandemic is growing. Yesterday, the California state government announced new mobility restrictions restricting non-essential activities from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day for the next 30 days in counties under a purple alert.

SARS-CoV-2, the new coronavirus that causes COVID-19 disease, continues to claim the lives of thousands and is causing irreparable damage, particularly to the in the Latino communitywhich is the one that has been seen the most affected by COVID-19.

In a major effort to counteract the effects caused by the pandemic in Redwood City - where the Latino community exceeds 38% of the population - the organization Casa Circulo CulturalThe San Mateo County, Dignity Health and the organization Community Alliance to Revitalize our Neighborhood (CARON), joined together to bring to town free COVID-19 testing with bilingual service.

It is important to note that these tests may also be applied to minors from 10 years of age and older. It is important to maintain the use of face masks and continue to practice social distancing.

The event will take place next Sunday, November 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot of the Mural, located at 3090 Middlefield Road in Redwood City.
