This Monday afternoon, a 37-year-old man, a resident of South San Francisco, who was a cyclist, was killed near Filoli Garden.
At approximately 5:00 p.m., units of the California Highway Patrol ?CHP? Redwood City were called to a crash on Cañada Road near Filoli Garden. An Acura sedan was reportedly traveling north on Canada Road and collided with a cyclist who was also traveling north on the same road.
According to the authorities, so far the cause of the accident between the two vehicles is unknown.
The driver of the Acura, a 22-year-old Hispanic man from Redwood City, and his passenger were taken to the hospital as a precaution. Meanwhile, the cyclist, a 37-year-old Filipino man from South San Francisco, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.
The County Sheriff's Office Saint Matthew asked witnesses to contact the Redwood City Area Office at 650-779-2700 if they have any information regarding this accident.
