The advocates will be hired and supervised by CORA (Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse), a nonprofit organization that is serving as a partner in launching the Domestic Violence Response Team with the county, the Sheriff's Office and the police departments in the cities of San Mateo and Daly City.

The county especially encourages survivors of domestic violence to apply if they meet eligibility requirements, which include being bilingual in languages such as Spanish, Tagalog, Mandarin or Cantonese, having experience working with survivors of domestic violence and pass a background check.
