On July 1, 1983, East Palo Alto won the long battle for incorporation, becoming an independent city that would determine its own destiny.
Given this, East Palo Alto will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a great event, where everyone is invited.
Thus, this Friday night, the singer Goapele will receive the attendees while the history of East Palo Alto is projected.
On Saturday, everyone will be able to enjoy the sounds of La Sonora Dinamita, Rafa and Artelia Green & the Bandannas, among many others.
"We hope you can join us at one or both of these events as we celebrate our city's pride and fight for independence," the city said in a statement.
This Friday's gala night will allow you to take a journey through the history of East Palo Alto while enjoying a dining experience overlooking the incredible city.
The appointment is at University Circle, at 1950 University Avenue in East Palo Alto, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, this Saturday, July 1, there will be a place for a parade and popular festival.
Join the celebration by marching with city officials and servants through various streets of East Palo Alto. The parade will culminate in Pulgas/Bay Road where there will be an all day party with music, games, vendors and much more!
The parade will begin sharp at 9:00 a.m. and will depart from the Westside at University Circle, 1950 University Ave.
