California allocates about $200 million to protect people from extreme heat

Following the high temperatures that marked an order last summer, the governor Gavin Newsom I announced that Nearly $200 million is available to help communities build resilience centers that can protect people from extreme heat in California.

Currently, $98.6 million is already available for the first round of funding for the Community Resilience Centers program administered by the California Strategic Growth Council (SGC).

For his part, he California Department of Food and Agriculture announced $89 million in support for resilience centers at fairgrounds.
