The San Francisco Fire Department donated 12 Scott Air-Pak self-contained breathing apparatuses to the city of Colima, which will allow them to carry out searches and attack fires more safely.
This was part of a meeting between the cities of Redwood City and Colima, Mexico, and as part of the objective of the mayors of both cities to strengthen ties and improve the quality of life of their inhabitants.
It is worth noting that the sisterhood between these two cities dates back to 1998, however, the link had been lost; so last Wednesday, August 25, in an event organized by Redwood City International, the mayors Giselle Hale and Margarita Moreno pledged to strengthen ties between the two cities.

In addition, this morning the San Francisco Fire Department gave a tour of its department and academy to the Colima firefighters and collected equipment for the donation, said Justin Velasquez, captain of the Redwood City Fire Department.
The 12 Scott Air-Pak self-contained breathing apparatuses will facilitate the work of the Colima fire department, as the conditions of the environment in which they have to work can be very risky, due to the hydrocarbons and plastics to which they are exposed.
The donated self-contained breathing apparatus has a compressed air line of approximately 45 minutes, which allows the user to use it with confidence because it allows them to breathe easily, which will be very useful to carry out the work of firefighters.
With the donation of the two Redwood City fire trucks and equipment by the San Francisco Fire Department to Colima, the commitment of the two mayors to resume the sisterhood between the two cities was noted.
