On Friday morning, a Google building was evacuated after a suspicious package was discovered, which ultimately turned out not to be dangerous, the Mountain View Police Department reported via its Twitter account.
The building located at 2000 Casey Avenue was evacuated "as a precaution" that the package could be explosive in nature. This would put at risk the people who were inside the building at the time.
Police requested assistance from the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office bomb squad, who after reviewing the suspicious package, determined at 11:30 a.m. that there was no danger and cleared the area.
"A preliminary investigation has revealed that the package is not dangerous. We will continue to have the bomb squad respond out of an abundance of caution," Montain View police were quoted as saying in a tweet.
