Agents of San Mateo County A Redwood City man has been arrested for rape of a minor.

Christopher Esquivel, 23, of Redwood City, was arrested on suspicion of forcible rape, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

On March 16, detectives began investigating the case of a minor who was raped by a known person. Investigators identified Esquivel as the suspect, and upon investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest.

This Thursday, Esquivel was located in San Bruno and was arrested. He has since posted bail and is no longer in custody, authorities said.

Gabriel R. Trujillo, a graduate student at the University of California, Berkeley, was murdered in Sonora, Mexico, while conducting field research investigating plants endemic to the region.

The murder of Gabriel R. Trujillo occurred on June 19, and according to his family and fiancée, the body was found several days after his disappearance.

A statement issued by UC Berkeley details that Gabriel Trujillo was a graduate student of that house of study, and that he was in Mexico doing field research.

The Sonora State Attorney General's Office reported that the young man's body was found on the stretch of road that leads from the town of San Nicolás to Tepoca, on June 22. While the car he drove from his home in Oakland to Sonora was found a few meters from his body.

A 51-year-old man faces two counts of vehicular manslaughter and others in an alleged drunk driving crash on State Highway 35 near Woodside last month, San Mateo County prosecutors said Monday.

James Morton Worthington, a Woodside resident, had dinner and drinks June 21 with two friends, Henry Keating and Josh McGuigan, at Alice's restaurant, located on Highway 35, also known as Skyline Boulevard, according to the United States attorney's office. county district.

A second person was pronounced dead after being struck by Caltrain trains on Thursday, the transportation agency reported.

At approximately 12:10 p.m., a southbound train fatally struck a person on East Meadow Drive in Palo Alto. There were approximately 68 passengers on board at the time of the accident, with no other injuries reported, traffic officials said.

This is the fourth Caltrain death of the year and the second in one day, as earlier in the day, Mountain View police began investigating the death of a pedestrian struck and killed by a southbound Caltrain-operated train earlier Thursday in Mountain See.

San Francisco Mayor London N. Breed announced a plan to repave an additional 500 blocks during 2024, using state and local funds of approximately $77.3 million.
