Police officers arrest a man in Redwood City after he attacked another person with a knife and yelled obscenities at him while driving.
According to a statement from Redwood City Police Department (RCPD), in June of this year, a suspect got into an altercation with the victim during a traffic altercation.
Sioni Holani, 68, of East Palo Alto, brandished a knife during the incident. While driving, the suspect interrupted the victim and then began yelling obscenities at him. They both exited their vehicles and the suspect lunged at the victim while holding a large kitchen knife.
RCPD patrol officers followed up on this case using Holani's license plate registration information and positively identified him as a suspect. Attempts were made to locate him in East Palo Alto and other locations, but were unsuccessful, police said.
Finally, on September 20, Holani was contacted during a separate service call. An RCPD patrol officer recognized him from the June road rage incident and he was subsequently arrested.
Holani was booked into San Mateo County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon, a felony.
