California is the second most sexual state in the United States
California is the second most sexual state in the United States, based on search volume for sex and sex-related terms.

Listen to this note:

Sex life is essential for human beings, as it is part of their overall health and personality. In this sense, California was ranked as one of the states with the highest level of sexuality, according to the volume of searches for sex and terms related to sex.

With a score of 28.5 on the sex education index, California has placed second for popular terms like “sexual positions” and “bondage, dominance, submission, masochism” (BDSM), according to research by MattressNextDay.

The Golden State is only behind New York, which holds the top spot with a score of 32.3. Other states where sex is a priority include Maryland, Massachusetts and Georgia.

The analysis also revealed that compared to last year, there is a staggering 173 percent month-on-month increase in Google searches for “cuffing season” in the US, the trend where single people begin looking for short-term partners to get through the colder months of the year.

This period typically begins in late fall and lasts into winter, and many people seek companionship and intimacy because they crave warmth and connection.

And whether you want to improve your sex education and/or find out what else you can try in the bedroom or are just curious, the first place people turn to is the Internet.

With this in mind, the mattress search engine and distributor analyzed search volumes for sex and other terms related to the term to discover the most sexually aroused state.

New York City ranks first with a sex education index of 32.2, driven by a total of 385,040 searches for sexual content each month, which is an average of 197.49 searches per resident.

Popular terms include “BDSM,” which garners 40,500 monthly searches, and “anal,” with 27,100 searches, reflecting the diversity of sexual topics New Yorkers explore online.

California is second, with 193.50 searches for sex-related terms per resident, or 753,000 total monthly searches, resulting in a sex education index score of 28.5.

Particularly notable searches in California include “erectile dysfunction” (40,500), “anal plugs” (27,100) and “friends with benefits” (18,100).

Rounding out the top three is Maryland, which scores 25.6 due to its statewide sex-related searches totaling 108,440. Combine this with its total population, and that comes out to 176.19 sex searches per resident.

What are the most searched sexual terms in the United States?
