The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention The CDC recently reported that the order requiring people to show a negative COVID-19 test or documentation of COVID-19 recovery before boarding a flight to the United States was rescinded effective Sunday, June 12, 2022.
This means that, starting on that date, passengers will not need to get tested and show a COVID-19 test result or documentation of COVID-19 recovery before boarding a flight to the U.S.
The COVID-19 pandemic has now shifted to a new phase, the CDC said, due to widespread acceptance of highly effective COVID-19 vaccines, the availability of therapeutics, and the accumulation of high rates of vaccine-induced immunity and population-level infections in the United States.
Each of these measures, he said, has contributed to reducing the risk of serious illness and death in the United States.
As a result, this requirement that was needed earlier in the pandemic may be withdrawn.
