The University of California at Berkeley it will have a new college for the first time in 50 years. 

The regents of the University of California voted Thursday to establish the College of Computing, Data Science and Society to teach computing, data science and statistics to help solve some of society's problems. 

The establishment of the new college comes after the creation of the Goldman School of Public Policy in 1969. A year before that, university officials established the UC Berkeley school of journalism.

Canopy, a non-profit organization in the Bay Area, wants historically disadvantaged neighborhoods to have more tree cover to protect the area and everyone who lives in it, so it has organized a meeting in Redwood City to find a solution. to the lack of trees.

A carambola of vehicles caused the closure of all lanes of the US 101 freeway in Sunnyvale on Monday, May 22, in which three people died and five more were injured.

Nearly nine hours after the accident, the lanes were reopened to traffic.

The chain reaction collision was reported around 12:30 a.m. on the northbound 101 Freeway, just south of Fair Oaks Avenue. The California Highway Patrol said the crash started when a Ford pickup truck traveling toward The northbound hit the center divider and came to a stop, blocking some northbound lanes. Other cars then hit the van and also stopped in the lanes going the same direction.

The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to recognize June 2 as National Gun Violence Awareness Day as firearms have become the leading cause of death among children. and adolescents in the United States.
