On September 16, Mexico and many other Latin American countries celebrate the National Holidays, a time to come together and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of the Latin American community.

This year, on Sunday, September 17, Courthouse Square was the venue for the 2023 National Holidays in Redwood City.

Organized by the Latino Community Council of Redwood City, at the event there were many fun activities and experiences for the enjoyment of people of all ages who were able to immerse themselves in traditional and modern Latin rhythms with the charming performances of Casa Círculo Cultural, Mariachi San Carlos, Gabriela Sepúlveda and Ballet Folklérico México Vivo.

The Consul General of Mexico led a traditional Flag Ceremony, a symbol of unity, pride and reverence for the history that unites Latin American nations. And La Nueva Raza Obrera made everyone dance and sing with their energetic melodies.

There were authentic Mexican food stalls serving tacos, tamales, churros and more, and arts and crafts vendors offered unique, handcrafted treasures showcasing Latin America's artistic heritage.

On September 17, 2023, Courthouse Square was filled to celebrate freedom and cultural heritage that transcends borders and unites people.
