As more people are being vaccinated against COVID-19 and as the opening of sites moves forward, San Mateo County parks announced that the hours of their areas will be extended in the coming weeks and many popular services will resume.
To keep these openings moving forward, rangers and park staff are counting on visitors to help keep these extended hours intact and services restored by following COVID-19 safety protocols that include keeping at least six feet away from those who do not live in the same house.
It should be noted that walk-in picnic sites remain open, however, group picnic reservations will be accepted from May 1 through June 14 in accordance with California Department of Public Health outdoor gathering guidelines and modifications, including group size, face coverings and social distancing.
Meanwhile, starting this Friday, April 16, the park hours will be extended from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, while for Saturday, May 1, the hours will be increased from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
For cycling enthusiasts, on Sunday, May 2, resumes Sunday cycling.
While on Monday, May 3, the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve will reopen with modifications, including facial coverings and social distancing.
