Do you like true crime series and documentaries? Do you consider yourself an avid fan of the detective genre? Well, now the opportunity you've been waiting for has arrived. The San Francisco-based streaming platform MagellanTV is offering to pay $100 per hour to anyone who can endure 24 hours of watching true crime stories.
For the third year in a row, MagellanTV is looking for a fan of true crime series and documentaries to participate in a 24-hour marathon and document their experience.
"Our ideal candidate lives for the ?genre? True Crime? ?true crime?: he can handle the most menacing serial killer, the goriest details and doesn't flinch at the paranormal and creepy," the platform details.
This "True Crime Watch Dream Job" is willing to pay $100 per hour, for a total of $2,400 for a 24-hour marathon of true crime documentaries.
MagellanTV assured that the winner of the job will be the one who loves the genre so much, "that they are willing to stream it non-stop for 24 hours. In addition to watching, they will be documenting their True Crime all night on social media for everyone to see if they can pull it off...or not."
Thus, the successful candidate will document his or her "epic crime and mystery" marathon on social media.
The winner will watch a total of 32 films with themes ranging from shocking homicides, mysterious disappearances and online fraud, starting with "Murder Maps: The Bermondsey Horror," which is about a murder in 1849 London and runs 44 minutes.
The job might seem a bit tiresome, but the contest gives the winner 48 hours to watch the more than three dozen true crime documentaries in their entirety.
The winner chosen to take on the daunting task will receive $2,400 in cash - if they meet the job requirements - and a free 1-year membership to MagellanTV.
However, the 100 finalists will also get a free 1-year membership to MagellanTV worth $60.
"If you have nerves of steel this job sounds perfect for you, simply fill out our application. Tell us who you are, what social media platforms you're active on and a little bit about True Crime in your life. To really stand out, submit a video telling us why you're perfect for the job," the contest states.
"If you win your dream job, we will provide you with the basic guidelines to follow your True Crime journey. When it comes to sharing the experience through social media, we just want to keep it real. Don't worry if you accidentally wander into a dark dreamland, you'll actually have 48 hours to complete this epic crime and mystery binge."
