Redwood City debuts mayor and vice mayor this Monday

The Redwood City Council is up for renewal, and this Monday, December 12, all residents are invited to celebrate and witness the transition and installation of the new council members, mayor and vice mayor of the city.

At a brief public reception, residents will be able to recognize the work of the outgoing council members and meet those who will now take on key positions that seek to improve the quality of life for all those who live and work in Redwood City.

The appointment is in the City Hall lobby located at 1017 Middlefield Road at exactly 5:00 p.m.

Following the event, the installation of the new Council members, as well as the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Redwood City, will take place.

And it is that, Giselle Hale and Diana Reddy, who until this Monday served as mayor and vice mayor, give way to Jeff Gee ?District 1? and Lissette Espinoza-Garnica ?District 3?, to fill these positions.

The City Council is composed of seven members and is the governing body directly elected by the voters of Redwood City.

As the legislative branch of local government, the Council makes final decisions regarding all important city matters and sets priorities and policies for the city. 

As the governing body, the City Council is responsible for setting policies, approving the annual budget, approving contracts for projects and services, holding public meetings, and
