A Redwood City man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly shooting at a vehicle with two people inside last month, according to police.
Around 11:30 p.m. on March 6, Redwood City officers were alerted to a reported shooting in the area of Lincoln Avenue and El Camino Real. Upon arrival, they saw a vehicle occupied by two people who said they had found an individual who, for unknown reasons, pulled out a firearm and shot them.
According to police, the victims' vehicle was hit three times, two of them near the driver's compartment. None of the occupants were injured.
Based on their investigation, detectives identified the shooter as 21-year-old Alan Viveros Lara. He was located and arrested on Wednesday and a search warrant was served at his residence. Police alleged they found the gun used in the shooting, which was a .40 caliber Glock 27.
Viveros Lara was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for the alleged shooting and other suspected crimes.
