The sale of appointments at Mexican consulates in California for various procedures has become a business, since it is very difficult to find available dates, so people choose to pay to obtain an available space.
People are very unhappy about this situation, so they have asked the Mexican authorities to investigate and follow up in order to stop this problem.
"It is known that there are places where you pay approximately $80 for an appointment at the consulate, speaking of northern California, at least," said Marcos Gutierrez, host and presenter of the program. Hecho en California, during the radio program Península 360 Press.
Gutierrez said that a person from the audience contacted him to present his case and assured him that the sale of appointments is real and that he is willing to start a movement so that the requests are heard.
"We are going to have to find a way for us to be the ones to move this, because for approximately 15 years we have had the same complaint that appointments are impossible to obtain, but if you pay for them it is very easy and they even come to pick you up in a van," Marcos Gutiérrez stressed.
Last August, it was reported from the National Palace in Mexico that many of these appointments are obtained via WhatsApp, fake websites or by phone through identity theft, posing as officials from consulates that process documents.
