San Francisco is back in style

What makes San Francisco one of the most iconic cities to visit?

San Francisco is back in fashion as it continues to be recognized as one of the most touristic cities in this year 2022, despite the various problems that the city has gone through in the last two years, such as the pandemic, the crisis in home financing or closing restaurants.

Different sites are what keep the uninterrupted popularity of the city rising, which, since 1937, has welcomed tourists across the famous red-dressed bridge.

And it is that one of the main representative sites of the city of sloping streets is the famous Golden Gate, one of the most photographed bridges since its design and opening by Joseph Strauss that unites different waters of the Pacific for 2.7 kilometers.

Another of the places that is difficult to separate from the landscape recreated from the Marina District is Alcatraz Island, not for nothing, the protagonist of one of the darkest films The Escape from Alcatraz or Escape from Alcatraz directed by Don Siegel and starring nothing more and by none other than Clint Eastwood. Where the story of J. Campbell's book is recreated, where two real-life brothers, John and Clarence Anglin, manage to escape from one of the worst prisons of the 60s.

However, not everything in San Francisco refers to attractions that cross the sea but also attractions on land. Just as he is SFMOMA Museum of Modern Art where you can currently see the exhibition of the work of the Mexican painter and muralist Diego Rivera in Diego Rivera's America where 150 works created between 1920 and 1940 are shown. Said exhibition is open from July 16 of this year until July 3 January 2023.

Another must-see spectacle is Golden Gate Park, a small oasis with around 1,017 acres where there are picnic spaces, places to eat, cultural events, and outdoor recreational activities. It is worth mentioning that there are free routes through which to travel by car and take a spectacular view.

Another of the hard-to-forget postcards consists of the emblematic avenue in a closed zig zag, this is Lombard Street, one of the most difficult streets to navigate due to its famous slope that has made San Francisco an emblem of the city.

When it comes to gastronomy, La Cocina Municipal is not left behind, a gastronomic project that brings together different local food ventures.

On the other hand, if it is a question of appreciating the marine life native to the coast, a tour of Fisherman's Wharf, one of the areas with the greatest tourist presence, cannot be missing from the itinerary, since Pier 39 makes the area one of the places with more restaurant presence in the area.
