People belonging to the Asian community in San Mateo County revealed that they are more afraid of racism than of the COVID-19 pandemic, this derived from the various attacks they have suffered throughout the pandemic, which, far from attenuating, have constantly grown, especially in the Bay Area.

Wagstaffe and Sheriff Carlos Bolanos expressed their condemnation and repudiation of the attacks that the Asian community is experiencing throughout the country, but especially those that are recorded in the community they seek to protect.
