San Mateo, CA – On the afternoon of Saturday, June 8, 2024, the Casa Círculo Cultural Folkloric Dancers entertained the public with a display of the rich and diverse folklore dances of Mexico. The performance was an exciting spectacle of vibrant colors, dynamic sounds and traditional songs, providing a taste of Mexico.
Guided by their instructors, including Omar Quezada, Eduardo Torres and Octavio Sorcia, the dancers took the stage with grace and energy. The dance company took the audience through Mexico's cultural heritage. They performed traditional dances from different states of Mexico, each with its own style and history in music and clothing. The variations in their zapateado, costumes and music showed the diversity of Mexican dance.
This extraordinary show was possible thanks to the invitation of Mireya Magaña, Consul of Community and Cultural Affairs of the Consulate General of Mexico in San Francisco, as well as the support of Stephen Seymour, Supervisor of the Fine Arts Department of the San Mateo County Fair. Their collaborative efforts ensured that attendees could witness the beauty and artistry of Mexico's folklore traditions.
