The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office has requested the community's help in locating a sex offender in Millbrae, who committed an attack this past Sunday.
And it is that, on August 13, 2023, around 7:35 p.m., San Mateo County Sheriff's agents were sent to the Spur Trail along Millbrae Avenue.
A 28-year-old female victim walking on the trail was accosted by an unknown suspect, described as a Hispanic male in his 30s and standing about 5'7" tall, approached the victim from behind and groped her. The suspect then fled the scene on a black mountain bike in the direction of South Ashton Avenue.
Following the report, an exhaustive search was immediately carried out in the area to try to locate the suspect. Unfortunately, the attempt did not result in his arrest, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
The authorities indicated that, in response to this incident, patrols have been increased in this area.
This incident remains under active investigation and officers are actively seeking any information that may help identify and locate the suspect.
