The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors announced on Monday, September 23, through a statement signed by Noelia Corzo and Ray Mueller, that it will review the ?multi-page? complaint sent by the county sheriff Christina Corpus against County Executive Mike Callagy.
"We are currently reviewing the complaint and will take the time necessary to determine the appropriate course of action," the statement said.
The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors said in the statement that it "reaffirms its commitment to due process and transparency to maintain public confidence in the county and the Sheriff's Office."
The Board also reported that Callagy notified them of Corpus' claims against it, which it described as "false and defamatory."
Callagy, the board said, "has requested a full, transparent and independent investigation into any allegations against him, and has asked that the results of such investigation be shared with the public."
According to the release, “Mike Callagy has been an ethical public servant in San Mateo County for more than 41 years. Unless proven otherwise, the Board of Supervisors has full confidence in his leadership.”
