The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting at the Moonridge Housing Community, a development for farmworkers in Half Moon Bay, where a man suffered gunshot wounds.
According to a statement, on Saturday, January 20, at approximately 7:09 p.m., San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the report of a shooting in the vicinity of Tea Rd. and Pear Orchard Way, in the Community of Moonridge Homes, located on the county's unincorporated Coast south of Half Moon Bay.
Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with gunshot wounds, and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Although the event took place within the framework of the first anniversary of the massacre recorded on farms in Half Moon Bay on January 23, 2023, in which seven farm workers lost their lives, the preliminary investigation has led detectives to believe that It was an isolated incident.
