Two arrested in San Mateo on suspicion of armed vehicle robbery
Detectives identified and arrested 2 on suspicion of robbery. On September 15, at 12:17 p.m., the victim parked his work truck, after which two suspects came out, both armed with a gun, and ordered the driver to get out of the car and get on the ground.

The San Mateo Police Department arrested two on suspicion of robbery in connection with an armed carjacking that occurred on September 15.

On September 15, at 12:17 p.m., the victim parked his work truck near the intersection of 42nd Avenue and Edison Street. Afterwards, a white Infinity parked in front of his car and two suspects got out of the other. vehicle, both armed with a gun, and ordered the driver to get out of the car and get on the ground. 

One of the suspects, later identified as José Ramírez Márquez, got into the victim's truck and drove away. The other, later identified as Julio Villalobos, returned to the white Infinity and drove off, according to a statement from the San Mateo Police Department.

Officers arrived at the crime scene and spoke with the victim, they said.

Officers subsequently passed information about the stolen vehicle to surrounding police departments, and officers from the Brisbane Police Department located the stolen van traveling on Highway 101 and attempted to stop it. 

Ramírez Márquez, 18, of Oakland, tried to flee from the officers and they chased him to San Francisco, where he stopped, got out of the truck and began fleeing on foot. 

Brisbane officers quickly caught up to him and detained him. Ramírez Márquez was in possession of a loaded and unregistered pistol. 

Eventually, officers from the San Mateo Police Department responded and arrested Ramirez Marquez, who was booked into the San Mateo County Jail.    

The Bureau of Investigation continued to investigate this crime, and during the investigation, detectives spoke with witnesses, reviewed surveillance footage, wrote search warrants, and gathered evidence. 

Detectives were finally able to identify the second suspect as Julio Villalobos, 18 years old, resident of Antioquia, who was arrested on November 16 and booked into the Santa Rita Jail in Alameda County.
