Two women stabbed in Redwood City in violent home attack

Agents of the Office of the San Mateo County Sheriff They found two women stabbed to death in Redwood City early this Sunday, after a call where one of the victims requested help.

Following a 911 call from a distraught woman, screaming for help, reporting that someone was trying to kill her, officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, who upon arrival found a man standing outside the residence, visibly covered. of blood, for which they proceeded to arrest him immediately.

Inside the home, officers made a harrowing discovery: two female victims with multiple stab wounds. 

Officers rendered immediate medical assistance to the women and arranged for their transfer to Stanford Hospital, where one of the victims succumbed to her injuries. The second victim is stable.

The suspect, identified as José Uriarte Martínez, was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Redwood City Correctional Facility without bail.

In light of the ongoing investigation, authorities determined that this was an isolated incident of domestic violence, therefore there is no further threat to public safety. 

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office has responded by providing crucial resources and support services to the family and individuals affected by this incident, authorities said in a statement.
