  • A woman was shot and killed inside the U.S. Capitol in a series of riots by Trump supporters that began Tuesday morning.
  • Donald Trump, current president of the United States, called for a presence on Capitol Hill in an event that gathered hundreds of thousands of people outside the White House, the live event was only replicated by Fox News.
  • With the use of violence, dozens of people stormed inside the Capitol, on Capitol Hill, as a rejection against the ratification of Joe Biden as successor to the U.S. presidency.
  • So far, riot police, the National Guard and the FBI are guarding the area. Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a curfew in the District of Columbia starting at 6pm.
  • Twitter, Facebook and YouTube blocked a video of President Donald Trump where, belatedly, returned to his followers to "go home" and reiterated electoral fraud.
  • Twitter blocked access to President Donald Trump's account for 12 hours.

Save America" was the event in which Donald Trump called his followers to gather in Washington, District of Columbia on Tuesday morning from 11 am local time.

Initially, the organizers of the event expected a maximum of 30,000 people; however, approximately 200,000 people attended the event.

Rudy Giuliani, Donald Trump's lawyer, in charge of challenging the results of the November 3 general election where Democrat Joe Biden won, opened the event after 11 a.m., justifying that the congregation was "legal and appropriate" under the circumstances.

Later, around noon, with racist and xenophobic phrases, Donald Trump continued with the event and declared that, "The media has been our biggest problem". "They stole the election from us, like never before." "We will not give up and we will not give in, we will not take it anymore". "It's a disgrace. Elections in the third world are more honest." "I will not let voices be silenced."

While this was happening, the U.S. Congress was in session to release the final results of the electoral college for the U.S. Senate to ratify the victory of President-elect Joe Biden. In that session, Vice President Mike Pence was in attendance.

On par with the session of the US Congress, outgoing President Donald J. Trump began to incite his supporters: "Now we are going to walk to the Capitol (...). We demand that Congress do the right thing and only count the electors of the valid votes..... We will march peacefully and patriotically"; however, unfortunately, the last part of Trump's sentence was omitted by his supporters.

The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives abruptly adjourned the Electoral College debate.

An extraordinary recess was called after the riots that began after Donald Trump's speech ended and, with it, the "Save America" event.

Congressmen and Vice President Mike Pence were evacuated when they heard what was happening on Capitol Hill. Meanwhile, an armed demonstration was reported outside where several people were injured. A violent mob stormed the U.S. Capitol grounds, where it violated national security.

With an embarrassing delay, Donald Trump, President of the United States, who had previously encouraged his followers to go to the Capitol, issued a video message on his social networks in which he called on his followers to remain vigilant and return to their homes, but not without first reminding them, without any proof, that electoral fraud had been committed. To prevent such false information from spreading, the social networks Twitter, Facebook and YouTube removed the video from their platforms, but other news outlets had retrieved it; however, no mainstream media offered to replicate it.

After the video was published and blocked, it was reported that a woman had been shot inside the Capitol. Minutes later, it was reported on social networks that the woman had died. The woman was later identified as Ashli Babbitt, an Air Force veteran from San Diego.

President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris spoke about the unrest in the U.S. capital:

Members of the U.S. Congress returned to the capitol at around 8 p.m. to continue the session where the results of the electoral college will have to be certified. Both Democratic and Republican senators have rejected any deliberate act that undermines U.S. democracy.

The area of the District of Columbia is guarded by riot police, the national guard and the FBI. The curfew is scheduled to last until 6 a.m. on January 7.
