It is worth noting that, according to a decision of the Brazilian Plenum of December 2021, it was determined the standardization of voting hours throughout the country. This means that, in Brazil, polling stations will open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m., Brasília time, provided there are no voters in line.
Consequently, states with a time zone different from that of the Brazilian capital will have to adapt to the measure, as provided for in TSE Resolution No. 23.669, which deals with the general acts of the electoral process. The polling stations in Rondônia, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and Roraima opened one hour earlier, that is, at 7:00 a.m. local time.
A good part of the sections of the state of Amazonas also began voting at 7:00 am. However, as some localities follow the Acre time zone, in these places, the work of collecting votes from the electorate began two hours in advance, that is, at 6:00 am.
