With a career spanning 22 years in San Mateo County, Captain Mark Myers has been named the new City of San Carlos Police Chief, who will bring his wealth of experience and deep understanding of the needs of the community to the attention of the residents of the town.
“I am truly excited to embark on this new journey as the San Carlos Police Chief. As a San Mateo County resident, the opportunity to serve in this role fills me with a deep sense of purpose. I am honored to have been entrusted with this responsibility and I am and am committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and community engagement," Captain Myers stressed.
Captain Myers has been an integral part of the San Carlos Police Office since its inception in 2010, when the city selected the Sheriff's Office for police services.
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, who announced the appointment, said in a statement that Myers occupies an important place in the history of law enforcement in San Carlos, being one of the first sheriff's deputies assigned as a patrol deputy in the city.
He added that throughout his law enforcement career, he has performed various crucial roles, demonstrating his versatility and commitment to public safety.
From patrol and corrections, to field training officer and member of the Crime Suppression Unit and SWAT, Capt. Myers has consistently demonstrated exceptional skills and professionalism in every endeavor, authorities abounded.
"I want to offer my sincere congratulations to Captain Myers on his exceptional work and his well-deserved appointment as Chief of Police. And well deserved appointment as Chief of Police Services for the City of San Carlos,” said Sheriff Christina Corpus.
The sheriff noted that throughout his tenure, "Captain Myers has consistently demonstrated unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership, and a deep commitment to public safety."
