Bombings don't stop: Mexican journalists in Lebanon

Mexican journalists in Lebanon
Mexican journalists in Lebanon have taken on the task of reporting on the events that have taken place since the bombings. Amidst all the chaos, resilience is what most amazes journalists.

Israel's attacks on Lebanon have not stopped, more than 3,000 people have been killed, 14,000 injured, a million more displaced and more than 200 children have died in Lebanon, said journalists Témoris Grecko and Manuel Ortiz, during the radio program Por la Libre, which included a special broadcast from Lebanon.

The attacks in Lebanon have left an alarming number of dead, although the figures are only estimates, the reality will always be harsher, however the resilience among the population is still present, it is important to recognize the unity and strength that stands out among the same people.

The death toll in Lebanon surpassed most of the daily toll recorded in Gaza during last year's conflict and doubled the average daily death toll during the deadliest year of the Syrian war.

Faced with such a complicated situation, an independent agency is launching an agricultural project. These are urban professionals who promote the circular and self-sustaining economy, seeking to mobilize the local economy in projection of the residents, as commented by journalist and documentary filmmaker Témoris Grecko.

"This issue of resilience is important, how there are people who in the midst of tragedy look for options, that is also the kind of thing we have to report, that people are resisting and resisting with a project as beautiful as this, an economy that breaks with dependency, supporting refugees, supporting displaced people in a very complicated area," said Témoris Grecko.

In the face of the latest attacks, the support among the people is what is present and continues to surprise among so much chaos, "the only people we saw were people who were coming to rescue those who were victims of this drone attack and well, there is total destruction in the place," Grecko added.

The speech says that Israel is attacking military targets, according to them they are places where there are ammunition and this is not the case, there are attacks against civilians, Manuel Ortiz even mentioned that two fishermen who were fishing locally died, they lost their lives due to these attacks.

"More than 200 children have died in Lebanon in the last two months," said Manuel Ortiz.

An experience that happened to them was around 4:00 am, there were five very loud explosions, it was in an upper middle class area, they destroyed an eight-story building and left a crater, a fact that surprised him because it had never happened there in Beirut, later the videos of these explosions were leaked, explained documentary filmmaker Grecko.

Témoris Grecko recently won the national journalism award in Mexico, as part of the work of this journalist he has the initiative to OpenWorld.info, is an informative space that seeks to bring people together through more responsible journalism without political or commercial influence.

You are invited to be part of this project. You can contribute from $100 or $200 Mexican pesos or $10 dollars, as it is a medium independent of agencies. It is financed through donations and support. Thanks to social contributions, we can carry out coverage in different countries, work and promote responsible and independent journalism.

In an interview, a Lebanese resident was asked what responsibility the United States has in these conflicts. The interviewee replied that the United States has been financing Israel, meaning that the destruction and massacres are sponsored, and that they support certain political powers.

The deaths of innocent people hurt because these acts of destruction are paid for with the taxes of American citizens, concluded Témoris and Ortiz.
