New affordable housing development in Redwood City opens waiting list

A new 125-unit affordable housing development in Redwood City, located at 353 Main Street in San Mateo County, has opened its waiting list, where priority will be given to low-income and working families in the area.

Thus, the affordable housing property in Redwood City offers units for Section 8 project programs and consists of studio, 1- and 2-bedroom apartments.

Interested parties can apply online through the following website www.mysmchousing.comwhere from April 18 to May 9 at 5:00 pm. 

If unable to access via the Internet, applicants may leave a message at (650) 802-3352, where a representative of the Housing Authority will contact you at a later date to provide all the information and assist you with your application.

To register on the waiting list, it is necessary to leave your name, social security number - if you have one - date of birth and contact information.

According to the Housing Department, preference will be given to families who live, work or are hired to work in San Mateo County, and who have income limits, among other restrictions.

For detailed information on eligibility policy, waiting list preferences in the Housing Authority's Administrative Plan you may visit https://www.smcgov.org/housing/residents.

The project owner may have additional eligibility criteria, such as lower income limit for certain units and suitability of applicants in the selection of residents.

All completed applications submitted through www.mysmchousing.com by 5:00 p.m. on May 9 will be placed on the waiting list.

It should be noted that the waiting list for affordable housing in Redwood City will be randomly determined by lottery.
