Santa Clara Valley Healthcare (SCVH) has opened a new Valley Health Center clinic, VHC Morgan Hill (formerly known as De Paul Health Center), to expand health care coverage for residents of South County, South San José and surrounding areas.

“The opening of VHC Morgan Hill is a notable milestone in the work Santa Clara County is doing to ensure quality health care for all, including those in South County and the 120,000 county residents who will most directly benefit.” said Santa Clara County Supervisor Sylvia Arenas.

The official stated that HCV Morgan Hill It will provide services for everyone, but above all it will have an immediate impact for the most vulnerable residents.

Authorities detailed that services include primary care, gastrointestinal (GI) specialty, general surgery, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy and walk-in urgent care.

Additionally, starting in April, a newly hired cardiologist will begin seeing patients at both VHC Morgan Hill and St. Louise Regional Hospital, a first for SCVH in South County. Future services will include pediatrics, obstetrics, orthopedics and other specialties.

“The residents of Morgan Hill and South County deserve quality health care where they live and work, and Santa Clara County is proud to open VCH Morgan Hill to meet this important community need,” said James R. Williams, Santa Clara County Executive.

The center is expected to serve up to 15,000 people a year and is estimated to serve between 40,000 and 50,000 patients across its range of specialties.

“The opening of VHC Morgan Hill, combined with St. Louise Regional Hospital and our VHC Gilroy Clinic, offers a wide range of health care options for those living in South County and surrounding areas,” said Greta Hansen, director. of Santa Clara County operations, who added that the county hopes to further expand services in the future.

The facility was acquired by Santa Clara County five years ago along with O'Connor Hospital and St. Louise Regional Hospital, when all three facilities were in danger of closing.

?The purchase of this property was just the first step toward opening VHC Morgan Hill. “The subsequent capital investment, along with the hiring of doctors, nurses and staff, is a direct result of the actions of our Board of Supervisors,” explained Paul E. Lorenz, CEO of Santa Clara Valley Healthcare.

The clinic's opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the emergency care, laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy hours will be Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., while that Saturdays, Sundays and holidays will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
