Last suspect in Redwood City home burglary apprehended

Redwood City detectives arrested the fourth and final suspect in a burglary and home invasion five months ago.

The Redwood City police investigation resulted in the arrest of three suspects on Aug. 4 in Sacramento County and a fourth suspect on Sept. 7, when the U.S. Marshal's Service arrested Cristian Gutierrez, 31, in Tehama County.

The first three arrested were Joshua Plancarte, 32, Edgar Adrian Romo Martinez, 19, and Edgar Flores Villaseñor, 30.

The four were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including conspiracy and armed robbery, assault and battery and brandishing a firearm. Police also seized numerous weapons during the arrest.

On April 22, police responded to the 1700 block of Oak Avenue at 22:27 where they found two injured victims.

Officials said the investigation revealed the male victim responded to a knock on his front door and one of the suspects shot him with a Taser. The other suspects entered the man's home, assaulted him and a woman and then restrained them with cable ties.

The suspects ransacked the house before fleeing with a large safe and other valuables.

Police said the male victim was treated at the scene for his injuries, then transported to a local hospital.
